creative direction

In the wake of the 2016 election, I co-produced a fundraiser for local non-profits with a roster of over 20 artists and performers. We raised $2,242 for Youth Uprising, Refugee Transitions, and CALEJA charging just $10-15 per ticket.

I acted as creative director, overseeing the design of the event, promotional materials, and casting. We took inspiration from George Orwell’s iconic 1984 cover and Oakland’s baudy underground cabaret scene to make our political stance clear while creating a space for revelry and community within the overwhelming landscape of the Trump presidency.
